WHAT YOU'LL DO



The Design Coordinator's main function is to ensure new design requests received from Sales are complete with all needed information and coordinate the assignment of new Design requests to the appropriate Design resource. Additional duties may include assisting with the completion of simple Design requests and ensuring Design requests are delivered in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Review new design requests for completeness of information Assign new design requests to the appropriate Design resource, ensuring all requests allow for quote delivery in the prescribed time limit. Communicate effectively with the Sales, Design, and Management teams for all new Design requests. Work closely with the Director of Engineering and/or Engineering Manager to resolve conflicts or challenges in Design requests. Facilitate communication between Design Engineers, Account Managers and Customer Review pre-construction design documents and other customer documentation for completeness of information Assist with large bid development as required and where appropriate Understand approximate labor, material, and time requirements for projects in order support Design Resource Management Obtain equipment price quotes from manufacturers or from in-house price sheets Contact equipment manufacturers to verify design and equipment required for functionality. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications Assist with the completion of simple Design requests (quotes, tasks, other duties) Ensure assigned design requests are completed on or before the due date. Promote the use of predefined rooms Other Duties as required

Skills and Abilities:

Communicate and interact, both written and verbally, with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner Proven computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office apps as well as CRM/ERP software Basic understanding of Audio-Visual systems and their designs Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work and think independently, and ensuring deadlines for requests are met Ability to read and understand system design drawings, both technical and architectural is preferred Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills Bilingual is an asset

Education and/or Experience:

Bilingual is an asset Minimum High School diploma or equivalent Post-secondary education in similar or related fields is a plus (Electronics, Audio-Video related Fields, IT related fields) Basic knowledge of Audio Visual solutions, projects or service work is a plus. Knowledge and/or experience of the equipment and manufacturers used in our business is preferred
