Based out of our office in Welland and reporting to the Owner\xe2\x80\x99s, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Oversee all accounting/bookkeeping functions including the general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable & payroll
\xc2\xb7 Monitor the financial performance of the company
\xc2\xb7 Perform job-costing analysis as needed
\xc2\xb7 Manage, implement and oversee the Purchase Order system
\xc2\xb7 Analyze capital asset additions and maintain schedule of existing capital assets
\xc2\xb7 Improve, as necessary, existing systems and procedures
\xc2\xb7 Prepare and submit all government reports and payments including withholding taxes, EHT, WSIB and HST
\xc2\xb7 Liaise and manage relationships with financial institutions
\xc2\xb7 Liaise with external advisors such as accountants and lawyers
\xc2\xb7 Ensure adequate insurance coverages, negotiate optimal premiums Qualifications
\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
\xc2\xb7 Minimum 3-years accounting experience in a senior accounting role
\xc2\xb7 Experience within the construction industry is considered an asset
\xc2\xb7 Experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an asset
\xc2\xb7 Highly developed MS Office skills. Advanced skills in Excel is an asset
\xc2\xb7 Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset
\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal and communication skills
\xc2\xb7 Self-motivated and self-directed
\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical and organizational skills
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work closely with management
\xc2\xb7 Forward-thinking and innovative Compensation
