THE COMPANY Browning Harvey Ltd. is a Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada based franchise bottler of Pepsi Cola and is a recognized market leader in the brand name Liquid Refreshment Beverage Category in this province. We are seekers of an experienced, proven accounting professional. THE ROLE Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for accounting and financial reporting for Browning Harvey Ltd. This position would be located at the Browning Harvey Ltd. office in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL. The core responsibilities of this role include: preparation of period financial statements and other management information reporting; period audit file and coordination with external auditors; timely period-end close processes; preparation for company budgets in conjunction with the Director of Finance; cost accounting processes and related variance analysis; ensuring company compliance with statutory obligations in the areas of taxation and all other government reporting; monitoring of internal controls; supervision and mentoring of accounting and administrative staff; along with other duties as assigned. THE CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the Chartered Professional Accountant designation and several years accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing and/or a distribution operation would be considered an asset. Ability to problem solve multifaceted issues, strong analytical, organizational, management and communication skills are key to this role. Strong ability to manage, train, coach and mentor staff and understanding of system architecture and administrative process flows is also key to this role.
