This opening for a Controller is a permanent position. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role

- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

- Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Budget forecasting experience

- Financial statement preparation experience

- Experience with cash flow management

- Financial reporting experience preferred

- Solid understanding of month end closings

- Proven knowledge of Government Remittances

- Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- CPA preferred however commensurate experience may be considered.

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

- Prior work done in public accounting is desired

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller or Assistant Controller is preferred

-Bilingualism is preferred.

This is a hands on, on-site role with flexible hours.
