As a leader in community inclusion of individuals with developmental, medical, and/or complex physical needs, PHSS supports individuals with developmental, medical, and/or complex physical needs to live in their own homes and participate in community with family and friends. Based in London, Ontario, PHSS supports more than 200 individuals in more than 60 locations across Ontario, providing 24-hour residential supports, day and overnight respite, specialized complex medical care and intensive behavioural supports, recreational programs, and support for individuals living at home with their families. By offering home-based supports, PHSS provides an alternative to institutional care by reducing the pressure on hospitals and institutions and in many cases, substantially reduce the cost of care. PHSS is actively seeking a results-focused, highly collaborative Controller to lead a motivated team of accounting professionals, while promoting a positive and supportive work culture in a dynamic and growing organization. Reporting to the Executive Lead, Corporate Services, this role will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities and will ensure that the organization has the necessary financial systems and procedures in place to support effective program delivery. \xe2\x80\x8e\xe2\x80\x8e\xe2\x80\x8e\xe2\x80\x8f\xe2\x80\x8f\xe2\x80\x8e \xe2\x80\x8e Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
  • Maintain internal controls for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets/expenditures
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations with PHSS including payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and planning process by analyzing, monitoring, and presenting the change and progression of financial data to senior leadership
  • Draft monthly statements and reporting for the finance committee
  • Manage all financial, project funding, and grant accounting exercises, ensuring that associated expenditures align with grant and program budgets
  • Present complex financial data, including strategic data interpretation, to senior management, Boards, and other key stakeholders
  • Manage and monitor metrics, Key Performance Indicator tracking, and reports
  • Assist with payroll and accounting software implementation where required
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization
  • Oversee the payroll function including payroll transactions, auditing, remittances, year-end filings, and system changes
  • Oversee benefit programs and negotiate renewals
  • Directly manage a cross-functional Finance team consisting of Accounting and Payroll professionals
\xe2\x80\x8e\xe2\x80\x8f\xe2\x80\x8f\xe2\x80\x8e \xe2\x80\x8e Experience and Education Required
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or working towards is considered an asset
  • 5 \xe2\x80\x93 7 years of Accounting/Finance experience is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a leadership role is preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Sage 300 is preferred
  • Experience in compliant funds management and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants is preferred
  • Experience in report management, coordination of auditing activities, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and investment accounting is preffered
  • Strong leadership and communications skills are required
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or related field
  • A Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required;
