Job Description

We are looking for a controller to oversee our accounting department and manage our financial reporting for our two companies (Hibco Construction and First General Services Edmonton). The ideal candidate will be designated, have experienced in full cycle accounting, knowledge or corporate taxation strategies, experience with oversight of payroll administration, and experience with leading an accounting team. This role will oversee six direct reports including five accounting staff and a payroll administrator. Duties to include: - Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting functions. - Oversight of budgeting and forecasting. - Oversight of accounting team, coaching and mentoring team. - Providing management with accurate and timely financial reporting for decision making. - Providing external reporting and processing including source deductions, tax instalment payments, maintenance of LOC\'s/loan payments, GST, and bank reporting. - Intercompany reconciliations. - Working with operations and accounting staff to develop and implement processes and procedures. - Financial statements forecasting. - Coordinating monthly WIP preparation and adjustments. - Coordinating year end review processes and working with external accountants. - Preparation of annual commissions reports. Fluency in microsoft office products is a must. Experience with quickbooks desktop is an asset. Working in the construction/restoration industry is also an asset.
