Primary Focus
Responsible for the organization-wide leadership of the Finance function.

  • Day to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting team, finance, forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning for Finance Dept, job costing, property management, negotiations, etc.
  • Work with Senior Leadership to set financial policy and procedures with overall integrity of the accounting records while leveraging financial systems all while meeting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE standards).
  • Develop and fulfill strategy for reports and forecasts of operating results for review by management and insertion in periodic and annual financial statements.
  • Set up and manage financial tools to address ESW’s needs (lease, loans, etc)
  • Implementation of operational metrics while supporting the various teams to achieve their financial results
  • Ongoing monitoring and management of cash-flows
  • Oversee the delivery of financial services to client groups and acts as resource to senior management.
  • Provide shared leadership and vision to the organization which includes ability to help mitigate potential volatility and uncertainty.
  • Work with stakeholders to oversee properties leased by ESW.
  • Strong requirement to influence the organization for financial acumen and introduce progressive tools and processes.
  • The successful candidate must be client centric (internal or external) and must have excellent client service skills.

Scope
  • Work closely with finance and governance teams of the board of directors, and shareholders.
  • Facilitate organizational accountability and transparency.
  • Attract, develop and manage staff and engage with others of the executive or senior leadership team to facilitate collaboration and provide advice on the financial implications of business activities (Risk Management)
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, including partnership compliance and private and institutional financing
  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
  • Overall responsibility for full cycle accounting process as well as inventory management controls
  • Develop and maintain insightful business intelligence reporting that empowers effective decision-making for the leadership team
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Minimum education level of Bachelors degree in Finance and a CPA designation; MBA would be an asset
  • The candidate must have equivalent business experience and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Chartered Professional Accountant designation

  • The ability to think logically and analyze complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ideal candidate to have a strong drive for constant learning

  • High ethical standards, must be able to demonstrate ability to build trust with the President and stakeholders of the Company
  • This role is hands-on and will require a roll-up-the-sleeves mindset
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to identify opportunities for process/control improvement as well as sensible and cost-beneficial automation.
  • Experience using Dynamics GP or similar ERP at an advanced level.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
