This position is a permanent contract position, 0.2 FTE (15-hours biweekly).
JOB SUMMARY
The job description represents the major duties and responsibilities of this position but is not to be misconstrued as including every task inherent to the job. QUALIFICATIONS
1. Develops and reviews all Nutritional related polices, procedures, screening tools.
2. Assists in the development and approves all menus used in the facility.
3. Liaison with other departments as required, including Medical, Nursing, Therapy,
4. Monitors all high-risk residents.
5. Has overall responsibility for the Nutritional Care of all residents in the facility including Nutritional Care Plans and Clinical Nutrition Risk Assessments
6. Outlines nutritional care plans as required, detailing strategies and interventions.
7. Determines need for nutritional supplements.
8. Completes quarterly and annual reviews.
9. Assists in staff education for Dietary staff, and staff from other departments.
10. Acts as a resource to the client care team.
11. Attends skin integrity rounds as requested.
12. Documents all interventions in the resident chart.
13. Initiates referrals to other health care professionals as required, e.g. Swallowing assessments.
14. Any other related duties required or assigned.
15. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
16. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Bachelor of Science Degree, Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetic or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
Membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC) is recommended.
