Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Care Manager is to provide leadership and direction to our team of dedicated care providers in our personal care home. Duties and responsibilities would include, but not limited to, leading a professional care team, ensuring residents receive exceptional care, keeping accurate records, and providing reports to Eastern Health.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and abilities:
Education and Experience:
Nursing background with management experience ideal
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Personal Care Home environment or equivalent;
Experience using care management software is an asset; and,
Experience in managing, leading, and inspiring care team
Skills and Abilities:
Proven leadership skills, supervising a team;
Ability to critically think and develop resident care plans;
Ability to provide outstanding customer service to residents, families and stakeholders;
Demonstrated genuine interest and passion for seniors;
Desire and ability to both provide and exemplify exceptional care;
Problem solving skills;
Focus on confidentiality;
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, family, staff, government, and vendors alike;
Committed to enhancing skills and knowledge of care team by providing relevant training;
Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities and duties:
Human Resources
Assist in recruiting and selecting a competent team of care workers;
Work with the Community Administrator to ensure employee files are complete; and,
Manage on-going staff schedules .
Senior Care
Preform continuous, ongoing supervision of all care team members;
Ensure that all care staff follow established safety regulations, polices, and procedures;
Ensure seniors receive the highest standard of care possible by developing;
Work with house Doctor as needed;
Keep accurate records; and,
Oversee department managers and evaluate all resident programs.
This is a full-time position; located in St. John's, NL.
Compensation commensurate with experience and education.
