Personal Care Worker

to join our team. We are especially looking for someone with strong

cooking skills

who can prepare nutritious, home-style Canadian meals that our residents will enjoy and look forward to.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve well-balanced Canadian meals, with attention to senior nutrition and soft-texture diets. Provide respectful and compassionate care to residents according to their individual care plans. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, mobility support, and feeding as required. Administer medications safely and accurately according to training and guidelines. Communicate effectively and patiently with residents, including those living with dementia, offering emotional support and reassurance. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, cognitive, or emotional condition to the Care Coordinator. Respond calmly and responsibly in emergency situations. Keep certifications and training updated as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a personal care home, hospital, or long-term care setting preferred. Previous cooking experience in a care home, hospital, or similar setting strongly preferred. Personal Care Worker course (must be completed within 3 months of employment). Medication Module (provided by Beacon House if not already completed). First Aid & CPR certification (can be completed within 3 months of employment). Food Safety certification (can be completed within 3 months of employment). Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within the last 3 years, no convictions). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with patience and empathy for seniors.

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
