Content Producer / Editor

POSITION: Content Producer, Editor

REPORTS TO: Content Director

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

CONTRACT: Full-Time

Overview:

The Content Producer/Editor will be responsible for creating compelling original content for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball club across multiple platforms to achieve business and brand objectives.

Working closely with the Content Director, Game Entertainment, and Social Media Team, the Content Producer/Editor is responsible for helping increase fan engagement and building brand affinity through the filming and editing of engaging long and short form storytelling.

The position is responsible for the creation of high-quality video, written, and social content that will be distributed across all platforms. The role will be a key contributor to the Marketing department and the development of the content strategy across all platforms.

The position requires the ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with key stakeholders throughout the company to deliver high end original content.

The ability to organize content, meet tight deadlines, and be flexible on a day-to-day basis is also a must. The role requires experience with athletes and strong knowledge of the game of baseball along with historical Blue Jays knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Shoot, produce and edit multiple content offerings including in-game video packages, commercial production campaigns, and special long form video projects
  • Write scripts, operate cameras, and edit on various video shoots
  • Work with Social Media Manager to create engaging content with a user-first approach
  • Film and edit videos for in-game, social media platforms, commercial, and long form programming
  • Ensure content is consistent in terms of quality, style, brand expression, and tone across platforms to optimize user experience and contribute to the overall brand identity of the Toronto Blue Jays
  • Work with Content Director to oversee execution, shoot details and edit schedules
  • Work closely with the Director, Game Entertainment to shoot and edit long form open videos and story driven content pieces.
  • Conceptualize and execute graphics for social media platforms, e-mail, and web
  • Must possess the ability to create graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Manage all video archive and content that is filmed for organization to have clear control of all material
  • Shoot brand content and assist with promotional commercials
  • Responsible for developing videos for internal presentations and other Blue Jays events.
  • Travel on and off throughout the season to produce and edit features, daily feeds, and content for social media and club content.
  • Assume other duties determined by the Content Director.
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in production
  • Must have expert knowledge with the following editing software: Adobe Creative suite - Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro
  • Proficient in broadcast shooting and editing - ability to shoot and edit is a must.
  • Must have basic knowledge of camera and field production equipment. Cameras include Sony FS5, FS7 and RED
  • Must possess a high level of creative and artistic skills for video and audio editing
  • Must possess the ability to write clear and concise scripts for both long and short form content
  • Must possess the ability to create graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines for production
  • Strong understanding of content distribution across multiple platforms
  • Possessing a good working knowledge about the game of baseball and the Blue Jays organization is a must.
  • Must possess a professional demeanor and ability to build a trusting relationship when filming with Blue Jays players, coaches, and management
  • Experience working with athletes is a must
  • Strong ability to collaborate and work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and collaboration skills
  • Must be able and willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings (required to work Blue Jays home games and some road trips when needed)
