Job Summary: The Content Editor supports the Learning Experience Designer in the development of university-level online courses. The Content Editor adapts and edits content to make it suitable for presentation in various formats, including PowerPoint slides, transcripts, and accessible documents. Excellent writing skills and a meticulous eye for quality and consistency are essential to this role. Main Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Proofreads, restructures, and edits content to meet the intended delivery method and audience all while ensuring a consistent voice and tone throughout
  • Creates storyboards out of multimedia content in PowerPoint
  • Writes and modifies content in Moodle and Rise
  • Creates transcripts, closed captions, and subtitles with the help of YouTube and Otter ai
  • Makes documents accessible as per Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Ensures that all copyrights have been cleared before using or publishing any content
  • Delivers materials within the estimated time, follows production schedules, and shares progress throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participates in project meetings to gain an understanding of the subject and course content requirements
Qualifications / Skills required:
  • Excellent writing skills: clear, concise, polished content
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Openness to receiving feedback and ability to implement improvements
  • Proactive and resourceful
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, or another field pertinent to writing
Experience:
  • Experience creating, editing and manipulating content
  • Experience working in an eLearning, training, multimedia, software development, or similar field is an asset.
Language:
  • Bilingual—English (advanced level) and French (intermediate level)
