It is our mission to build luxury custom properties that truly stand the test of time as it relates to architectural integrity, functionality, and safety!Position SummaryThe Project Manager will be responsible for assisting Pine Hill Homes team with providing effective management of residential and commercial construction projects by coordinating and ensuring smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish with various internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will be involved in all project matters from pre-construction to completion including design implementation, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Site Supervisor. Strong communication, project management and budget planning are strong requirements for this role.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of design, specifications and regulations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the construction schedule to deliver the project on time and under budget
  • Create budget, manage against the budget, and report project profit/loss figures
  • Monitor, interpret, and forecast a project's cost reports and insure they are in line with the contract valuations
  • Communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated
  • Identify project- develop and implement mitigation and contingency plans
  • Assist manager in taking care of the fine details of a large project conduct assessments to identify and seek solutions to project problems in order to reduce downtime
  • Assist in resolving conflicts or disputes as they arise and provide suitable solutions
  • Attend meetings and performs routine site visits to monitor construction progress and compliance with the contract requirements.
  • Issue minutes from meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of assigned projects
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients to ensure complete customer satisfaction and good prospects for future business
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish
  • Maintain professional contact with clients through phone calls, emails, or text messaging
  • Monitor inventory levels to determine the need for stock procurement and replacement and as needed, source better suppliers
  • Prepare and present to the manager weekly or monthly reports of project operations
  • Collect data, analyze it, and assist in the setting of objectives for a project
  • Ensure changes in project plan are communicated to all team members involved
  • Carry out quality reviews and check to ensure project operations are in line with industry best practices
  • Ensure project team members comply with company practices and project principles
  • Respect decision-making boundaries and know when to call the attention of the manager
  • As required, meets with owners, architects and other stakeholders in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
  • Stay current with trends by networking, participating in industry events and taking professional development courses and maintaining awareness of the current business environment and competitors

  • Manage daily project operations in the absence of a project manager
  • Assistant project managers must have the skill to handle client calls, document project operations, and ensure vital information is passed across to team members
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 5-8 years of experience in project management within construction for a custom home builder
  • Experience in construction industry in a similar capacity an asset and preferred
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
  • Project Management Certificate an asset
  • Budget planning experience required
  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure client needs/expectations are met and exceeded while maximizing revenues
  • Collaborate with team members and share information with appropriate individuals
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment
  • Strong commitment to professional and responsive service with the ability to deal effectively and professionally with difficult individuals
  • Communicates effectively, ensuring all details and related logistics are communicated to the appropriate individuals
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Proactively identify problems and innovates solutions to challenging situations
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tight timelines and conflicting priorities
  • Focused on delivering high levels of service and responds to all inquiries/requests in a professional manner and with a sense of urgency
  • Strong working knowledge of the construction industry practices, methods and techniques
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients/trades and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality / privacy of information
  • Self - motivated with the ability to take initiative and be resourceful
  • Strong verbal communication skills - written and verbal
  • Pleasant, respectful and professional when communicating with others
  • Commitment to teamwork and cooperation
