The responsibilities of this role will include planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervising of projects from early development to completion.We provide our team with: - Ongoing mentoring + coaching- An attractive salary- Extended Health Care PlanFUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversees all aspects of construction projects; including new buildouts, updates, and renovations.2. Manages the schedule and budgets of Jack Nathan construction projects; performs regular cost assessments and adjusts as needed.3. Gathers detailed proposals, quotes, estimates, designs from planners and contractors, presents them to senior management for discussion and approval.4. Works closely with design and architecture teams to develop well thought out plans, ensures the functionality of clinics for both patients, medical staff, and service providers, with a focus on adhering to health and safety codes or standards.5. Secures and files all necessary building and occupancy licenses and permits.6. Facilitates all pre- and in the course of meetings relating to construction projects.7. Acts as the liaison between internal and external project team members as well as senior management; builds relationships with architects, tradesman, consultants, provincial health and safety representatives, among others; manages all day-to-day correspondences related to construction projects in a timely manner.8. Creates and follows a weekly-, monthly-, quarterly-, reporting structure to submit all pertinent and relevant information to senior management, Walmart, and stakeholders.9. Work cohesively with our in-house facilities and maintenance teams, as well as outside contractors, service providers, and property management.10. Performs routine site visits to assess the progress of construction projects; available onsite as needed or when required.11. Participates in existing clinic turnover processes, supports the operations and facilities team with new implementations.12. Works cohesively with the team as well as independently; can be proactive and takes initiative when appropriate.13. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.14. Willingness to travel.15. Able to multi-task and manage the needs of multiple properties and current- and future projects. Creates and conveys a detailed schedule to all interested parties. Identifies and prioritizes simple and complex tasks and to-do lists, keeps calendar up-to-date, schedules work accordingly. Delegates duties and projects to appropriate team members, assigns the right job to the right person. Implements efficient filing and reporting system for any construction related matters. Sets, achieves, or exceeds S.M.A.R.T goals.

Able to systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, seeks input from those in management and the field, can address root causes of issues as they arise. Keeps an accurate roster of architects, contractors, ministry representatives, tradesman, consultants, and related contacts to provide quick and efficient answers. Oversees projects with a critical eye, anticipates challenges and proactively finds solutions.
COMMUNICATION
Excellent verbal, written skills in both French and in English, along with strong interpersonal communication skills. Able to correspond respectively and effectively with Walmart representatives, Jack Nathan Health and Jack Nathan Functional Health partners, tenants, property owners and managers, on-site teams. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of engineering, construction methods and equipment, and industry practices. Shares information and ideas freely with team, actively listens to others, contributes the positive working relationship for all participants.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent in French + English (verbal + written)
  • A degree or technical diploma in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a related role
  • Strong computer literacy skills - Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Bluebeam, Adobe, AutoCAD, Revit etc.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, requirements, by-laws, safety standards
  • Solid communications skills
  • Proven track record of meeting and achieving goals/targets
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Effective November 15, 2021, all Jack Nathan Function Health employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Full vaccination occurs 14 days following the second dose of a Health Canada approved vaccine.Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months
