Our client is one of Ottawa's leading developers and they are seeking the services of an experienced Project Manager with high rise construction experience. The position reports directly to the VP of Construction, and is responsible for the overall success of the project, from project inception, planning, coordination, procurement to execution.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing multi-story projects from pre-construction through to close out: safely, under tight deadlines, budgets and quality standards
  • Lead the timely preparation of complete and fully coordinated drawings and specifications with the consultant team
  • Permit submission & municipal approvals
  • Prepare, monitor and control construction budgets and schedules
  • Tendering, contract negotiation and administration of : professional consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage the subcontractors, trades, site personnel and consultants during construction to resolve problems and track progress
  • Provide and support active safety leadership on the project
  • Administration of project communications, record keeping and filing
  • Collection and dissemination of all final documentation, as-built drawing and technical manuals
  • Occupancy, registration and turnover
  • Foster and maintain positive and constructive relations and communications with clients, colleagues, consultants and subcontractors
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years related experience in high rise construction and project management,
  • Construction related education (Architecture / Engineering / Project Management)
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project
  • Be an individual who thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities and can adapt to evolving situations
  • Ability to come in and own projects from start to finish
  • Solid experience in project planning, estimating, scheduling, cost controls, project administration and contract management.
  • Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, quality and project execution
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills interacting directly with architects, consultants, contractors, trades
