About the Role



The Office of the Member of Parliament for South Shore--St. Margaret's is seeking a compassionate, tech-savvy, and community-focused individual to serve as a Constituency Assistant. The successful candidate will be a key part of our team, providing direct support to constituents, helping them navigate federal programs and services, and supporting outreach and communications efforts.

Key Responsibilities



A. Constituent Services & Casework



Handle constituent inquiries with professionalism and empathy Research and resolve complex casework files involving federal departments (e.g., CRA, IRCC, Service Canada) Maintain accurate case logs and prepare briefings for the MP on emerging local issues Liaise with federal agencies to advocate for timely and effective solutions

B. Technical & Administrative Support



Use casework management software to track and document files Support digital systems, including data entry, electronic filing, and security practices Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and administrative coordination in the office

C. Communications & Community Engagement



Help craft social media content, newsletters, and other public-facing communications Promote the MP's community work and highlight services available to constituents Support planning for outreach events, town halls, and stakeholder meetings Capture and relay community feedback to the MP and team

D. Qualifications & Skills



Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help others Experience in casework, client services, or public service delivery Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid technical and digital literacy, including case management and communications tools Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Familiarity with government services and programs is an asset Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred but not required

E. Working Conditions



Full-time, in-person role based in the South Shore--St. Margaret's constituency Occasional evening/weekend work for events and outreach Salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits
