Position Details: Full Time Permanent, New Position
Starting Salary: starting at $67,100 (based on a 35-hour work week and commensurate with individual education and experience, as it relates to the position).

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to secure new event bookings.
  • Gain business by promoting the conference centre through sales calls, tours, and marketing campaigns.
  • Plan and execute all events from meeting with clients to invoicing.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (booking, catering, AV, setup, maintenance) and external vendors to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of all events.
  • Host all events and conferences which includes overseeing and assisting with logistics and full set up and take down as well as coordination/troubleshooting throughout the event
  • Hire, train, and supervise temporary workers as needed.
  • Conduct a retrospective/post-event meeting to identify positive outcomes and areas for improvement for future events
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for events.
  • Prepare and present event proposals and contracts to clients.
  • Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions for clients while maintaining profitability.
  • Process and track client deposits, payments and invoices ensuring timely collection of fees.
  • Work with the Finance team to reconcile payments.
  • Prepare and submit financial and ad hoc reports
  • Conduct a post-event/retrospective follow up with clients to seek feedback and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Diploma in event planning, hospitality, marketing, business or related field.
  • At least 3 years experience working in event planning, sales, marketing or hospitality.
  • Experience leading and scheduling contractors/temporary workers
  • Experience in providing high level customer service to a wide variety of clients.
  • Proficiency in marketing and sales planning/strategies
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record in securing event bookings
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Experience in invoicing, contract management and budget management
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, which includes evenings and weekends.
  • A valid drivers license and access to own vehicle will be required. Public transportation is not available.
