The Portfolio

Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Community Special Events Coordinator is
responsible for the development and execution of the Town\xe2\x80\x99s special event programs and
festivals. This position liaises with third-party service providers and sponsors to support event and
recreation needs within the community. A key focus of this role is to foster effective working
relationships with a wide range of groups, including Town staff, sponsors, vendors, community
groups, volunteers, the public, etc. The Community Special Events Coordinator will seek out and
maintain sponsorship agreements for the Department, as well as support grant writing and
advertising programs.

The Candidate

As a candidate for this position, you have achieved a diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure,
Event Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration or a related field. You have
five (5) years of experience planning and managing large-scale events, as well as two (2) years
experience in a management or leadership position. You possess superior written and verbal
communication skills, and are experienced in grant writing and event sponsorship.

includes a salary range between $64,550 and $78,535, and a comprehensive benefits plan.
