Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Increase our community presence and reach, utilizing social media tools and ensuring website is kept up to date. Strengthen current corporate and community relationships to leverage fundraising initiatives. Research, approach and secure new opportunities for partnerships. Prepare and submit written applications for grant and funding opportunities. Carry out effective fundraising programs, including annual campaigns, sponsorships, and gifts and planned giving, and maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and procedures used in the non-profit sector. Implement digital fundraising initiatives by utilizing all social media platforms. Work closely with agencies and vendors that support our events and communications. Work closely with Leadership Team and all staff to achieve fundraising goals and participate in branding and marketing strategies. Help develop a donor recognition strategy. Implement donor management system (Canada Helps) Prepare bi-weekly and yearly status reports for review with the Executive Director.Education Diploma or Degree in a related field such as Communications or Public Relations. Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) is an asset.Experience At least 2 years of experience related to fundraising, event coordination, project management, sales and marketing or other related field. Working for a similar non-profit organization is an asset.Other Requirements Strong technical aptitude and an intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Excellent English language communication. Strong teamwork skills Writing and proofing skills. The demonstrated ability to work autonomously without direct supervision. A flexible working schedule - the ability to attend after-hours events, may work additional hours prior to grant submission deadlines, etc. Valid drivers' license with a personal vehicle insured for work-related travel. The ability to work within an established budget. Some knowledge of financial planning. Resourceful, creative and collaborative. Organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
