Job Description






This a full-time project funded position which is scheduled to end no later than December 31, 2023. This position is bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1936 and is a pay Grid 14 which is $28.39 per hour. We are accepting applicants who reside in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap region.
JOB PURPOSE The Community Engagement Coordinator is an ambassador for the 211 Division of United Way BC; building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders to increase awareness of the organization and the services provided by 211 British Columbia. The Coordinator develops and implements communications and marketing materials and strategies, and facilitates promotional activities that support the organization in achieving its project goals. The role works with internal colleagues, external partners, volunteers and community organizations to identify and leverage opportunities to promote 211 British Columbia and develop potential networks. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements internal and external communications and marketing strategies, initiatives and activities.
  • Builds 211 British Columbia\xe2\x80\x99s online presence and community through active engagement on social media platforms, and by developing, posting and updating promotional content on digital channels.
  • Researches content, writes and edits, designs, selects and/or customizes graphics to support internal and external digital and collateral content.
  • Works with external contractors/service providers (e.g. graphic designers, media outlets, etc.) to facilitate the development of marketing materials.
  • Develops, executes, analyzes and refines Google AdWords campaigns.
  • Creates reports using Google Analytics to track website activity.
  • Seeks out and secures opportunities to profile 211 British Columbia in the community, including trade shows, community fairs, special events and festivals.
  • Makes presentations and represents 211 British Columbia at community events.
  • Facilitates 211 British Columbia\xe2\x80\x99s participation in events which includes securing speakers/presenters; organizing and supervising staff or volunteers in attendance; gathering and/or preparing appropriate collateral and presentation materials; conducting follow-ups and debriefs.
  • Administers all marketing files, materials, signage and other collateral to ensure current content and brand integrity.
  • Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or events management.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of recent related experience, including digital marketing and analytical experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills:
  • Strong organizational, analytical, reporting and time management skills with the ability to understand and communicate the broader implications of plans and activities
  • Facilitation and group problem-solving skills
  • Ability to motivate others and work as a team member
  • Skilled in creating and maintaining good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in successful community engagement projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a community setting with diverse populations, including community groups, government, professional staff, and volunteers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and learning new computer applications and tools
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, be responsive and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to exercise an elevated level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Requires living and travel within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap region
  • Requires a valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle
  • Flexible schedule to attend meetings and events
