:Position: Communication Sr. AdvisorPrimary Location: Remote - Home BasedSchedule: Full-TimeReports To: Director Corporate CommunicationsCompensation: $80,000 - $90,000 + bonus + benefits.Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. By putting people at the center of our operations, we build strong connections, nurture innovation, and create fulfilling work experiences for all.In This Role, You Will:Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the Communications Sr Advisor is responsible for drafting and executing Chemtrade\xe2\x80\x99s internal communications strategy, which will include a focus on supporting internal programs and initiatives which are employee facing, but will also include responsibility for the development of a comprehensive content calendar for existing employee communication tools such as our intranet \xe2\x80\x93 My Chemtrade, information screens located at each facility, our internal newsletter Chemshare and bi-weekly Sharing our Success newsletter. This person will also be responsible for drafting and executing Chemtrade\xe2\x80\x99s social media strategy, including the creation and alignment of an external content calendar. The role will also support the development and implementation of a company-wide donation and sponsorship program.A Successful Candidate Has:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of communication protocols, disciplines and processes.
  • Knowledge of websites, visual design and use of social media.
  • Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Working knowledge of French preferred
  • A minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in corporate communications
  • Able to develop, articulate and successfully execute communications strategies to support company objectives, improve employee engagement and enhance Chemtrade\xe2\x80\x99s reputation as an employer of choice
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to the needs of the audience, including the ability to translate technical information into understandable messages
  • Able to identify and develop creative ideas about a given topic and develop creative approaches to address issues and solve problems
  • Strong relationship building, collaboration, influencing and teaming skill
  • Effective judgment and decision-making skills including the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches
  • Ability to work remotely
Specific Role Responsibilities
  • Develop an internal communications strategy, which is aligned with the overarching corporate communications strategy and helps Chemtrade achieve its strategic goals, with a focus on continuing to improve internal communications and support better employee engagement
  • Liaise with internal teams to support directed employee communications, including the development of communications plans as required
  • Develop a social media strategy that will help to raise external awareness of Chemtrade, but also help build employee engagement and pride
  • Develop a comprehensive content calendar for facility information screen, and look for content opportunities
  • Provide communications support to internal teams and functions on initiatives that are being shared across the organization (HR programs, health and safety, etc.)
  • Prepare the bi-weekly Sharing our Success message to all employees, sharing a real example from an employee or team where Chemtrade values and culture were displayed
  • Provide communications support to functions and businesses as needed including supporting community relations efforts, tradeshows, product literature etc.
  • Develop communications content \xe2\x80\x93 product fact sheets, facility information, general business information \xe2\x80\x93 for use with external audiences
  • Support creation of a company-wide donations and sponsorship program
  • Work with external contractors to develop content for the quarterly internal newsletter Chemshare \xe2\x80\x93 aligned or leveraging where possible with the bi-weekly Sharing our Success
  • Take ownership of content of external webpage and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
  • Support the development of the Sustainability Report
  • Ensure content of internal webpage (My Chemtrade) is relevant and advances employee engagement
  • Support communications during crisis communications and emergency response incidents
  • Monitor media activities to ensure that media reports of interest to Chemtrade are circulated appropriately
  • Perform other duties as required
