PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Communications Specialist supports the development and implementation of integrated communications strategies that support organizational priorities while stewarding the brand and reputation of LMCH. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts to oversee the planning and implementation of LMCH\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external communications and public relations initiatives, as well as corporate policies and procedures development. This is a non-bargaining unit position. This position is temporary for a term of up to 9 months. 2. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Develop and execute a social media strategy in collaboration with the Communications Manager. \xc2\xb7 Craft, schedule, and analyze posts across various digital platforms. \xc2\xb7 Engage with our online community, responding to comments, questions, and private messages in a manner that fosters a positive community and reflects LMCH\xe2\x80\x99s Mission, Vision, and Values. \xc2\xb7 Report on social media performance metrics, offering insights and strategies for improvement. \xc2\xb7 Complete regular updates to the website. \xc2\xb7 With input from the Communications Manager, and subject matter experts, conceptualize, plan, and produce a range of communication and marketing materials including web content, reports, newsletters, educational materials, digital signage, surveys, etc. \xc2\xb7 Work closely with the Communications Manager and subject matter experts from across programs to identify internal and external communication needs, ensuring consistent messaging and timely deployment of communications. \xc2\xb7 Uncover and share captivating, timely, impactful stories that could live across our communication channels, such as our websites, social media channels, and newsletters. \xc2\xb7 Ensure communications are aligned with the LMCH brand and strategic direction. \xc2\xb7 Collaborate with the Communications Manager to plan and manage key events including announcements/media conferences, days of recognition, webinars, staff recognition initiatives, etc. \xc2\xb7 Create and maintain a digital assets library of documents, news stories, and photographs relevant to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s performance, communications, and development plans. \xc2\xb7 Recommend metric and feedback mechanisms to enhance communication strategies. \xc2\xb7 Perform other position-related duties as assigned. 3. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS: \xc2\xb7 Post-secondary degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. \xc2\xb7 3 to 5 years of experience in related field or equivalent work experience \xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of and experience with content creation and digital media management \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and editing skills, with initiative, creativity, and a passion for persuasive storytelling. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated experience in digital asset management (web mastering) and effective use of social media. Experience in website development and preparing RFPs for vendors. \xc2\xb7 Experience with video production, ideal but not required. \xc2\xb7 Experience designing/formatting documents for print production, ideal but not required. \xc2\xb7 Excellent computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite. \xc2\xb7 Ability to provide creative and innovative advice on communications matters. \xc2\xb7 Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. \xc2\xb7 Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. \xc2\xb7 Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. \xc2\xb7 Must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and carry adequate insurance. 4.
