Candidate profile (title) Who you are

Candidate profile (text) - Default language \xe2\x80\xa2 You have a minimum of 2-5 years\' experience in commercial public relations and/or communication.

  • You are passionate about home furnishing, communication & modern digital retailing trends and turning them into practice.
  • You have an up to date knowledge of creating and maintaining a strong and positive brand image through commercial PR activities.
  • You can effortlessly manage multiple competing priorities while working independently and interdependently in a dynamic business environment.
  • You possess a proactive attitude, hands-on approach to responsibilities as well as the aptitude to communicate verbally, visually and in writing with an inspirational IKEA tone of voice.
  • You can take initiative and execute in times of change and uncertainty, while keeping business goals, co-workers and public trust in focus.
  • You are motivated to create effective and engaging commercial PR communications that will contribute to the positioning of the IKEA brand as the unique, trusted and preferred choice in home furnishing products and solutions.
Key responsibilities (title) A day in your life with us

Key responsibilities (text) \xe2\x80\xa2 Execute and implement the local integrated communication plan with a focus on commercial public relations.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the market communication projects & media relations agenda.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to plan, execute and optimize the use of earned media, as part of an integrated media approach to maximize commercial impact, drive business results and improve sustainable profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze media to measure results as well as identify proactive opportunities and potential risk issues.
  • Enable effective internal communication and assist in creating the prerequisites for our leaders and co-workers to be our best ambassadors.
  • Define, plan, create/execute and follow up on commercial PR communications and projects while working with stakeholder management to meet the business needs.
  • Be responsible for supporting and directing communication related to commercial events.
  • Actively encourage improved content creation, based on communication trends and the latest developments within commercial PR.

The successful applicant must be based in the GTA with flexibility to work in both Burlington and Etobicoke.

Bilingual and/or agency experience would be considered an asset.

This role is a 12-14 month temporary contract.
