The opportunity: The Communications Manager, Provost reports to the Director, University Communications, Strategic Communications Office and manages a team of Communication Officers associated with program areas of strategic priority to the University of Manitoba, including all university faculties, the Student Affairs department, the Centre for Advancement of Teaching and Learning, and Student Residences. Has specialized knowledge of the partner areas and is responsible for establishing best practice communications programs to address the objectives, needs and opportunities of the Provost communications portfolio. Plays a vital role in promoting and building the reputation of the university, its faculties, unit and departments at the internal and local, regional, and national level. The qualifications and experience we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for: \xc2\xb7 Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing or other related specialization required. \xc2\xb7 Six years of directly-related communications and partner management experience in an integrated marketing communications setting required. \xc2\xb7 Leadership and management experience is required. \xc2\xb7 An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. S \xc2\xb7 Must have exceptional leadership and relationship building skills. \xc2\xb7 A solid understanding of print and digital communications platforms and the ability to leverage in an integrated way to meet identified goals and objectives are required. \xc2\xb7 Must have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize conflicting demands. \xc2\xb7 Strong project management skills are required. \xc2\xb7 Must possess a high degree of independence, diplomacy and the ability to work collectively in a fast-paced environment. \xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate is required. \xc2\xb7 Ability liaise successfully with external partners and senior leaders within the institution is required. \xc2\xb7 Ability to motivate and inspire team members is required. \xc2\xb7 Ability to manage a broad range of marketing communications projects from concept to completion is required. This includes, but is not limited to: communications strategies, print publications, social media strategies, digital content development, advertising and market research. \xc2\xb7 Thorough knowledge of the procedures and techniques in the field of specialization is required. \xc2\xb7 A proven track record in working with all levels of staff, including senior administration, external stakeholders and others is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
