What is the opportunity?

Come be part of a high performing team that innovates, plans, and delivers strategic leadership offerings for critical transformational programs as well as key initiatives and activities within Retail Banking Payments Technology and Integration (RBPTI). As Communications Manager, you will develop content and support initiatives to deliver signature experiences for all employees. This role requires strong interpersonal and communications skills, as you will need to work with leaders and teams across RBPTI, T&O and the enterprise to achieve your goals.

What will you do?

  • Events: Support the Senior Communications Advisor in the leadership, end-to-end planning and delivery of large-scale, high-profile events that range from audiences of 150 to 1000 employees, sponsored by Technology Executives. This requires collaboration and creativity on the event theme and design, strong attention to detail, planning and coordinating event segments and understanding technical requirements to ensure all logistics for events are executed effectively. You will interface with executives, senior leaders, cross-functional teams within RBPTI and across the enterprise, designers, and vendors to deliver events both virtually and in-person.
  • Online/Digital Communications: Develop and manage the execution of Online/Digital Communications Strategies, including, measuring, and reporting on online/digital channels effectiveness for the purpose of user engagement and continuous improvement. This includes developing, executing, and managing Connect sites, Slack channels, Podcasts, informational videos, as well as opportunities to innovate and manage any new channels.
  • Communications & Content Strategy: Lead the end-to-end communication planning for various initiatives, activities, and communications. You will support the Senior Communication Advisor in developing strategic, clear, simplified, engaging content, including, executive communications and speaking briefings, event primers, storyboards for podcasts/videos and Connect site and Slack channel content etc.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Support the Senior Communications Advisor in building strategic partnerships to scale leadership offerings across T&O and the enterprise.
  • Innovation & Operational Excellence: Continually research and identify opportunities to provide engaging, multi-channel communications. This includes building strategic partnerships and leveraging centers of expertise within organization to streamline and improve communication tools and processes.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in communications, events, or program management; Degree/diploma or equivalent in communications, digital media, or related field
  • Strong creative/innovative, planning, organization, program delivery and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects, with the ability to identify challenges and propose solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and technical communications skills; strong customer service orientation; ability to interact effectively with senior management and effectively present a point of view across varying levels of the organization
  • Strong proficiency using electronic communication technology - RBC Connect, SharePoint, WebEx, Survey tools, Slack
  • Ability to collaborate, build relationships and exercise sound judgement, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Ability to independently identify creative, innovative communications opportunities and priorities and execute
  • Deadline-driven and results oriented, strong project management knowledge
