The District of West Vancouver Communications Department is looking for a permanent Communications & Engagement Coordinator who is motivated and enthusiastic about corporate communications to join a busy communications team. The successful candidate will be required to help manage digital and print communications tools for the District, and will assist with the planning and execution of a wide variety of other District communications.
The successful candidate will:
  • plan, write, edit and proofread a range of communications materials for print and digital publication
  • participate in the maintenance of westvancouver.ca and other District websites
  • stay up to date on the latest developments in social media and digital communication and its application to corporate communications; recommend the adoption of new tools and techniques
  • generate content for social media and digital communications channels
  • respond to inquiries and online conversations on the District\xe2\x80\x99s social media feeds
  • use analytics to evaluate online initiatives and tools, and adjust tactics accordingly
  • participate in development and execute communications tactics; as required, provide assistance to the Communications Advisor and Communications Director on various projects
  • perform related work and administrative tasks as required

The successful candidate will possess: university-level graduation in communications or a related discipline plus related experience; graduation from a diploma program in communications, public relations or journalism plus related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License for the Province of British Columbia. Successful candidates will be required to provide a Police Information Check.

35 hours per week. Hours and days of work may vary.




Starting Rate of Pay:


$37.15 per hour This position has a pay structure with five steps which increases based on the number of hours worked.
