EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYPosition: Engagement Coordinator/Communications - Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle Classification: Technical Support ______________________________________________________________________________ The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle Engagement Coordinator/Communications that will be located out of the Saskatoon office. The individual will work collaboratively with the Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle team to build communication strategies that educate the public. Primary responsibilities will be developing communication materials for the purpose of reporting to the First Nations of Saskatchewan. This position will be responsible for the projects assigned and assist with functions of the Director of Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle. ________________________________________________________________________ Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with engagement sessions with First Nations, government officials and leadership;
Assist with communications, briefings, newsletters and templates;
Assist with research of legal and historical documentary/archival reports;
Assist in the development, writing and distribution of media releases, backgrounders and media advisories pertaining to Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle;
Assist in the research and development of effective and efficient communication strategies;
Promote Jordan\'s Principle;
Develop and promote a campaign and awareness strategy;
Develop communication materials to inform all First Nations of on-going Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle work;
Assist in the development and organizing of Health and Social Development Secretariat (HSDS)/Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle conferences, forums, symposiums and any special event organized or sponsored by the FSIN HSDS/Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle department; and,
Responsible for assisting in the development and execution of necessary materials for print, broadcast and/or distribution.
Data Collection
Collection and maintenance of data;
Develop database for intake calls;
Ensure privacy and confidentiality are protected and maintained; and,
Assess the scope and nature of needs to inform the development of a long-term approach to implementing Jordan\xe2\x80\x99s Principle.
QualificationsEducation
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Social work, or Commerce.
Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field, such as Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or Advertising would be considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of Two (2) years working in communications or public relations field.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Strong background in health and social policy, including and understanding the barriers of First Nations children, youth and families accessing programs and services.
Knowledge and understanding of First Nations customs, culture, and history.
