Department: Corporate Communications
Term: Permanent Full-TimeWork Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are seeking a creative individual focused on coordinating communications and content development activities as part of the Corporate Communications and Philanthropy team.The Communications Coordinator will work closely with other members on the corporate communications team, corporate marketing team, graphic services, employee experience and other marketing teams as part of their role.Now is an exciting time to join one of the Waterloo Areaxe2x80x99s Top Employers for 2025 and Southwestern Ontarioxe2x80x99s Top Employers for 2024!What you will be doing:

  • Supporting communications projects through varied tasks, making sure they are completed on time.
  • Helping with video production, including set up and tear down of sets, scheduling of interviews, helping to prepare people who are participating in video projects
  • Writing some content for video, EQ News posts and other channels as required
  • Helping the team create content for digital screens
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations
  • Posting content on SharePoint
  • Supporting the creation of a weekly internal news digest
  • Supporting internal and external events
  • Coordinating communications and logistics for Equitablexe2x80x99s philanthropy programs
  • Coordination of archival materials
  • Managing the digital photo library
  • Helping with the approval processes for communications materials including video, written articles and other content
  • Coordinating and scheduling team meetings
What you will bring:
  • One to three years of communications or marketing experience
  • Post secondary education in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related programs
  • Ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive, high energy team player who thrives in in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of design and experience with design programs including Canva, InDesign
  • Basic video content creation and video editing skills
  • Basic knowledge about social media platforms, social media and traditional media monitoring
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and tasks.
  • Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with people from across the organization and at all levels.
