The Undergraduate Office is responsible for marketing and recruitment, administration of broad-based admission for the selection of qualified candidates, scheduling, student orientation and transition, registration and evaluation of business courses, academic advising, awards and scholarships, academic promotion and graduation and coordination of exam scheduling. In addition, the office is responsible for the overall policies and procedures for participation in Commerce Study Abroad and Exchange programs at over 60 leading universities in more than 30 countries.Under the general direction of the Associate Directors in the Undergraduate Office (UGO), the Communications Coordinator implements integrated communication portfolio to promote the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program to prospective local, national and international students, their parents and counsellors, to engage current students and to effectively deliver relevant information to UBC Sauder faculty and employees. Works collaboratively with the UBC Sauder Marketing and Communications unit (MarCom) and university communications units to deliver relevant messages to prospective and current students.Organizational Status
Reports to the Associate Director, Academic Services in the Undergraduate Office. Works closely and collaboratively with other Associate Directors on all communications outreach for prospective and current BCom students. Works closely with other members of the UGO as well as with other UBC Sauder business units, division chairs, instructors, divisional assistants, dean\xe2\x80\x99s office and numerous UBC departments and services (e.g., Enrolment Services, Faculties of Arts, Science, Engineering, etc.) in support of the Undergraduate Office\xe2\x80\x99s mission to attract and retain outstanding students to the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program, engage and inform current BCom students throughout their educational career and foster a supportive community of faculty, employees, students and alumni.Work PerformedDevelops and executes integrated communications portfolio for the BCom program, ensuring consistent branding and aligned messaging as set by the UBC Sauder Marketing and Communications.Creates, implements, and evaluates the content for current and prospective students, such as the myBCom website, digital signage, myBCom bulletin, e-newsletter, presentations.Proactively enhances the usability of the website by continually assessing the elements of the site and ensures consistency with the UBC Sauder website style guides, templates and branding.Ensures that all communications activities are in alignment with the strategic communications plan and the goals of the Undergraduate Office and deliver a consistent message.Responsible for the editorial content and delivery of a variety of print and web-based communication vehicles for identified audiences.Works with the Undergraduate Office team and other UBC Sauder units (e.g., Marketing and Communications, Canaccord Learning Commons, UBC Sauder Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre, etc.) to ensure content is coordinated amongst UBC Sauder social media channels.Manages myBCom website and updates BCom admissions related content in the main UBC Sauder website.Researches and develops content for the traditional and online media to promote the BCom program and BCom student successes through UBC Sauder and campus-wide channels in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.Creates and manages the Undergraduate Office\xe2\x80\x99s editorial calendar, ensuring that student communications are streamlined and delivered through the most effective communications channels, and using academic systems to accurately identify student populations to provide information that is relevant to their program of studies.Monitors and analyzes effectiveness of communications activities. Supports Associate Directors in developing benchmarks, targets and indicators and using multiple evaluation tools to evaluate and improve performance.Conducts regular outreach with stakeholder groups to gauge effectiveness of communication plans and strategies.Researches, coordinates and communicates key statistical information on BCom admissions, enrolment, option enrolment and student engagement for use in recruitment and marketing efforts, including online and print materials.Develops communication materials for outreach activities and special events.Develops communications policies, improves plans, and creates campaigns for prospective and current students supported by the unit.Manages the Undergraduate Office\xe2\x80\x99s library of photo and video resources.Hires, trains and supervises student workers as needed for communications projects.Represents the Undergraduate Office in cross-functional team projects within UBC Sauder and across UBC.Performs other related duties as required.Consequence of Error/Judgement
The Coordinator has a direct impact on the quality of the services offered to students, faculty and employees. The decisions have a direct impact on the image, reputation and desirability of the BCom program for current and prospective students, their parents and external organizations that influence applicant decision-making. The quality of the communications material developed has a profound impact on all internal and external stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 opinion of the BCom program, the UBC Sauder School of Business, the University and its programs and services. Inaccurate, inconsistent or ineffective information distributed through any of the media developed could have a significant detrimental effect on the BCom program, UBC Sauder School of Business and University, resulting in loss of reputation and revenue. Poor decision-making or judgment would compromise the integrity of the BCom program as well as the ability to recruit and retain excellent students at the UBC Sauder School of Business and UBC.Supervision Received

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
