Based out of our Port Hope office, the Communications Coordinator will support Bird's industrial construction. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will work closely with superintendents and other coordinators and will be responsible for the coordination of all field communication items, including but not limited to property access requests, scheduling, and other client/subcontractor/craft communication and management. The ideal candidate brings a mix of strategic thinking, creative content development, and strong organizational skills to help drive impactful communications across multiple platforms.
This position will be based out of Port Hope, ON.
What you will be doing:Support the field communication officer who facilitates communication between the client, coordinators, contractors, and property owners/residents regarding construction activities and environmental remediation in Port Hope, ON
Foster open communication and strong relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, businesses, and the public
Support the operations team by ensuring timely information sharing and addressing concerns, recognizing the importance of community support
Maintain and manage the property owner complaints coordination, and distribution of content
Prepares and distributes accurate and detailed meeting minutes in a timely manner
Assist in the creation and dissemination of targeted client communications, particularly for campaigns and events
Coordinate logistics and communication needs for project events and initiatives
Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations to enhance communications efforts
What we are looking for:Excellent communication with client service and customer focus to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and various stakeholders
Excellent writing, editing, grammar, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings and other construction documents is a strong asset.
Works effectively in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional, client-focused attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Ability to understand and tailor messages to diverse audiences
