About the Role
The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in executing International Needs Canada's communications and marketing strategy. This role is responsible for content creation, scheduling, posting, and reporting across digital platforms, as well as assisting with donor updates, newsletters, and other outreach. The coordinator ensures that the stories and updates from INCA's global partners are shared with clarity, consistency, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Campaign Support
Draft email newsletters, donor updates, and campaign content.
Create social media posts and maintain a consistent content calendar.
Write stories based on reports from partners and field staff.
Assist with the preparation of appeal letters, reports, and marketing materials.
Social Media & Digital Engagement
Schedule and post content to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Monitor engagement, respond to messages, and support follower growth.
Track analytics and share performance reports.
Email Marketing & Website
Format and schedule emails via Mailchimp (or equivalent platform).
Segment lists and help maintain contact database.
Update website content and donation pages.
Implement basic SEO strategies and monitor web analytics.
Visual Content
Create simple graphics in Canva (or equivalent tool).
Help manage photo/video library and support editing needs.
Team Support
Assist with project-related communications, including formatting donor reports.
Conduct basic research or surveys as needed.
Provide administrative support for marketing projects and events.
Qualifications
Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or public relations
Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter; TikTok is a plus)
Experience with email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp) and website CMS (e.g. WordPress or Wix)
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Familiarity with Canva (required); Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects) is an asset
Strong written communication and storytelling skills
Photography or videography skills, including basic editing (preferred)
Experience in the non-profit sector (volunteer or professional) is an asset
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (preferred)
College diploma or certificate in a relevant field (acceptable)
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
