We\'re looking for top talent to join our Communications team as the Communications Coordinator!

Reporting to the Manager Reputation and Story, and supporting a team of senior communicators, you are a key contributor to a variety of projects and initiatives from across the Communications Division, including internal, external and member communications. With a heavy focus on writing, you play an integral role in bringing the Servus story and brand to life across internal and external channels.

Through coordination and implementation of communications plans and tactics, as the Communications Coordinator, you will have a hand in a wide variety of projects and initiatives from across the Communications Division. In particular, you will support the efficacy of Servus\'s Intranet while providing communications support to a variety of strategic initiatives from across the organization. You will also support efforts to proactively manage and share the Servus story across external facing channels.

Providing coordination and logistical support to initiatives within the Division, including townhalls, events and executive speaking opportunities enables the team to be efficient and effective. You have the opportunity to support and lead special projects, and to provide support to the Vice President Communications.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating content for a variety of communications channels as assigned, including website, social media and (in particular) the Servus intranet.
  • At the direction of the Intranet Lead coordinating/supporting ongoing upkeep and governance of the Intranet, including writing/creating content.
  • Supporting efficacy of internal communications channels and acts as the "resident expert" on Servus\'s Yammer communities for employees
  • Provide back-up support for content-related roles, including posting to social media and the Servus website
  • Supporting monitoring and reporting with the division by compiling analytics and updating reports
  • Helping ensure Crisis Communications Plan and protocols are current and support ongoing evolution of Servus\'s approach to crisis response
Requirements:

To qualify, you\'ll need at least the following:
  • Minimum 2 years of communications experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • College diploma or university degree related to public relations, communications or journalism or a related discipline
Although not required, the following experience and education/certifications are valuable assets:
  • Knowledge of publishing to intranets, and using Microsoft 365 applications (Yammer, Teams and SharePoint in particular)
  • Experience and/or training in graphic design and/or video production for communication
  • Experience working within a large/complex organization
  • Experience working in a cooperative / member-based organization
