As our Deputy Clerk/Communications Coordinator, you will: \xc2\xb7 Act as a liaison between Council, the public, various Ministries, and statutory bodies. \xc2\xb7 Provide advice/guidance/interpretation on procedural matters, legislative requirements, and historical background information. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for the statutory duties of the Clerk, supporting the Clerk with duties including Council Secretariat, corporate information and records management, licensing, elections coordination, coordination of requests under MFIPPA, including Freedom of Information requests, preparation of reports, by-laws, and resolutions. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate Town and BIA communications using the various outlets that the Town employs. \xc2\xb7 Support for Council, Committees and Local Boards, including corporate records management program, remaining current on legislative changes affecting the Town, and reviewing and recommending updates to corporate procedures, policies and by-laws, etc. \xc2\xb7 Corporate and Legislative Support, including corporate records management program, remaining current on legislative changes affecting the Town, and reviewing and recommending updates to corporate procedures, policies and by-laws, etc. \xc2\xb7 Implement the Town\xe2\x80\x99s communication\xe2\x80\x99s endeavors, including writing newsletters, using social media, managing the Town\xe2\x80\x99s website. \xc2\xb7 Deputy Divisional Registrar, Lottery Licensing and Deputy Returning Officer duties including maintaining vital statistics, burial permits, death registrations, marriage licenses, etc. and managing the Town\xe2\x80\x99s Lottery Licensing program. \xc2\xb7 Assist the CAO with the coordination of Emergency Management and Accessibility programs for the Town. You have: \xc2\xb7 Degree in public administration (e.g., Political Science, Public Administration) or related field and completion/near completion of the Municipal Administration Program and Municipal Law Program. Three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in government in an administrative, communications or records management role, or an acceptable combination of education and experience \xc2\xb7 Working knowledge and understanding of the Municipal Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Municipal Elections Act, the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Vital Statistics Act, the Marriage Act, and other relevant legislation. \xc2\xb7 Exemplary customer service, written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce communication and messaging to diverse audiences. \xc2\xb7 Ability to proficiently use computer software applications. \xc2\xb7 Ability to maintain discretion in a confidential environment with a high level of attention to detail. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work outside normal business hours (evenings) to attend meetings when required. \xc2\xb7 Valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and use of personal vehicle.
