Montreal Neurological Institute

Position Summary:
The lab of Dr. Alan Evans (McGill Centre for Integrative Neuroscience \xe2\x80\x93 www.mcin.ca) has an opening for Part-Time Communications Assistant B (Casual) to work with project leads on various research initiatives within the lab which include: EEGNet, Canadian Platform for Open Science (CONP), and Global Brain Consortium (GBC). This position is key to assist the lab achieve their grant deliverable targets/goals.

Responsibilities:

  • With the guidance of the lab team research project leads, schedule events, seminars and meetings specific each research project.
  • Assist visiting students/scientists in the lab.
  • Take comprehensive notes at research partner meetings.
  • Maintain and manage member and contact lists for research projects.
  • Update research project websites, newsletters, along with social media accounts i.e.Twitter, Zotero, Slack.
  • Maintain, manage and file documents and recordings from research meetings.
  • Compile information to share with research stakeholders, publications and report writing.
  • Assist in the process for funding support calls.
  • Occasionally draft translations of research documents from English to French; provide proof-reading services in both languages.
  • This position requires the employee to be flexible to attend meetings and events on the dates when they are scheduled. Sometimes remote/sometime in person.



Other qualifying skills or abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability/experience to perform required tasks;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Proficient with Video Conferencing Platform;
  • Skills in business practices and total customer satisfaction;
  • Experience in office administration & event planning, an asset;
  • Good writing skills for scientific reports and notes;
  • Experience with website management, an asset;
  • Knowledge of the field of Neuroinformatics an asset.
















Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience















Hourly Salary: (AMUSE B) $25.00















Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week: 28 (Part time)















Position Start Date: 2023-02-20















Position End Date: 2023-08-19
