CNC programmer/operator for Aluminum Composite, Aluminum Plate, PVC and other laminated panels for exterior cladding on buildings
Reporting to the General Manager, the CNC programmer/operator's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Perform all work requirements while ensuring individual safety as well as full consideration for the safety of those entering the workspace
Reading and interpreting technical blueprints, sketches, samples and models
Work with field personnel to obtain and refine field measurements as a precursor to drafting
Perform all drafting, panel layouts, optimization and necessary steps using AutoCad, V-Carve and other related programs
Calculate and write programs for CNC work centres to fabricate parts to specifications
Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems concerning programs, tools, materials and machining operations
Tooling selection and maintenance scheduling
Loading raw materials into the CNC work centre
Completing quality control assessment during and after the manufacturing process
Perform secondary machining operations on parts
Perform detailed analysis of the parts configuration/dimensions to determine the most efficient machine operation for production
Cleaning and maintaining machine and work spaces for safe and efficient operation
Interface with engineering consultants and management to identify and resolve design, equipment and operating issues
Perform all quality control inspections to ensure parts meet standards
Perform preventative maintenance and maintain logs for safety and operational integrity
Training new staff, as required
Organize workspace to provide safe and efficient receipt and storage of raw materials and components required for installation
Organize and prepare finished components for shipment including labelling, registration, stacking, packaging and updating of shop drawings
Assist with inventory management, raw material and parts purchasing, equipment servicing and system upgrades
Perform regular updates to management to ensure the smooth performance of the department
At the General Manager's request, assist in the preparation of shop drawings for engineering review and approval
Actively work at self-improvement through formal and informal channels and report progress to management
Pre-qualification requirements:
Post-secondary education in construction architectural technology
Experience in facade and exterior cladding design
Expertise in building envelope and rain-screen systems
Experience with programs including CAD, DDX, XCAM, V-Carve Pro, PlanSwift, Blue Beam and working with G and M Codes
Experience in 2d and 3d design
Experience with inventory management
Detail-oriented, meticulous and committed to the process
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
