, a global leader in Helicopter Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MMRO) is looking to expand our Machining Department by hiring an additional

CNC Machinist.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

VIHA is looking for a team focused person to join our Machining and Manufacturing Department. Reporting to the Manufacturing Department Manager, the ideal candidate will gain exposure to a variety of sometimes challenging manufacturing projects.


This is a full-time position based at the VIH Aerospace facility in Sidney, BC, Canada.


Relocation services are not included in this opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations. Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes. Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments.

REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:

Canadian Provincial or inter-provincial Machinists ticket preferred; however, all levels of experience will be considered. Proficiency in operating machine equipment such as lathes and mills. Strong knowledge of Feature CAM/MasterCam/Fusion 360, CAD, and blueprint reading. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic math skills for calculations and measurements. Ability to assemble and fabricate parts according to specifications. Attention to detail, especially ensuring specific steps are followed to complete a task and have high standards towards quality control. Demonstrate the values of safety, teamwork, and accountability and work well with others.
