My client is the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading specialist in air transport communications and information technology, they are looking for a Cloud Platform Architect \xe2\x80\x93 Azure/K8 to join their busy team in either Hayes, UK; Aldershot, UK; Atlanta, USA or Montreal, Canada.
The Cloud Platform Architect will be responsible for overseeing the organizations cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud management and monitoring. You will oversee architecture and deployment in cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud. Additionally, you will act as consultant to the organization by continuously researching and studying the latest trends and issues. You will drive enterprise organizational alignment to ensure successful cloud adoption, security, governance, monitoring and risk management is adhered to.
Cloud architects are responsible for managing cloud environments. They create and execute cloud computing strategies by designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure adaptation process and assets to help a business meet its goals. What you will do

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Platforms, DevOps and Integration Teams to ensure cloud adoption follows standard best practices
• Design cloud environments with a focus on Azure and AWS and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design and production, staging, QA and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24x7 environments.
• Collaborate with developers to make sure preliminary requirements are met before continuing to design and integrate the project.
• Delivery of cloud strategies, aligned with business objectives and with a focus on cloud migrations
• Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud including implementation of Azure or AWS within global enterprise environments
• Consult at a high architectural level around Cloud native solutions such as serverless environments, container technologies, microservices and other PaaS, ensuring architecture meets industry best practices.
• Drive IaC processes to ensure building out environments, maintaining baselines and cost governance models can be automated.
• Implement required systems, solutions and processes needed to manage cloud cost, monitoring, scalability, and redundancy are accounted for and continuously validated
• Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance best practices
• Create best practices/technical architectural guidelines for building and and hosting applications in private and public cloud environments

Who you are

• 2+ years of experience working in K8 environments. This experience must include engineering deployment strategies, experience hardening deployments, and hardening the control plane and worker nodes.
• Stong understanding of how to implement observability and altering into new and existing clusters is key
• 2+ years of proven experience of developing and rolling out containerized environments.
• 2+ years experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles
• 2+ years of experience presenting the technical solutions you develop to other teams and organizing technical dependencies involving other teams.
• Ability to design and implement secure cloud infrastructure in Azure/AWS
• Ability to drive effective meetings, workshops, design and problem-solving sessions; are passionate, persuasive, articulate cloud professional capable of quickly establishing interest and credibility in how to design, deploy and operate cloud-based architectures.
• Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end cloud infrastructure, architectures and designs
• Knowledge of additional cloud technologies, such as VMWare, API Management and Identity Management
• 5+ years experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect with a focus on Azure clouds, server, storage, security, and networking
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible (coding with Python or Ruby a plus)
• Deep, proven knowledge of one or more Cloud environments (Azure/AWS); possess solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as skills and experience designing and transferring/migrating applications to the cloud.
• Proven, demonstrated practical experience in using CI/CD DevOps tools
• Leadership skills and the interest in sharing knowledge with your team members

Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology or relevant field.
• PCSA or CISSP certification
• Relevant industry certifications on Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS Certified Solution Architect or MS MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
