Job Description

The Medical Receptionist / Addiction Clinic Support Staff is a key frontline role supporting individuals receiving substance-use disorder treatment and recovery services. This position ensures respectful, confidential, and trauma-informed client engagement while supporting clinic operations, clinical workflows, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) coordination, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires professionalism, empathy, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced addiction-care environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Reception & Trauma-Informed Care

Welcome and support clients in a

non-judgmental, respectful, and recovery-oriented manner

Respond calmly and compassionately to clients experiencing distress, withdrawal symptoms, or emotional challenges Maintain strict confidentiality of client health, treatment, and personal information Promote a safe, culturally sensitive, and stigma-free clinic environment
Appointment Scheduling & Clinic Flow

Schedule intake appointments, follow-ups, physician visits, and counseling sessions Manage client flow to support medication dosing schedules and provider availability Coordinate closely with clinical staff to minimize wait times and disruptions
Administrative & EMR Support

Complete and update client intake forms, consent documents, and treatment records Maintain accurate data entry in the EMR system (e.g., PatientVu) Enter missed doses, Last Confirmed Doses (LCD), medication lists, and pharmacy coordination data Scan and upload medical, pharmacy, and lab documentation to client files
Medication & Clinical Coordination Support

Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT) workflows (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine programs) Prepare and label urine drug screen (UDS) sample bottles following clinic protocols Monitor and document UDS testing as directed by clinical staff Assist with point-of-care (POC) testing when required Process lab results accurately and promptly, escalating concerns when needed
Safety, Compliance & Clinic Operations

Respond appropriately to medical or behavioral emergencies following clinic protocols Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, clinic policies, and addiction-treatment standards Maintain cleanliness of clinic areas including reception, waiting rooms, consult rooms, washrooms, and entrances Support clinic audits, reporting deadlines, and operational task
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week

Work Location: In person
