POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clerk III position as a member of the Finance & Decision Support team will report directly to the Supervisor, Patient Revenue & Accounts Receivable. The incumbent will be joining an existing team, performing Billing/Accounts Receivable (B/AR) processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and processes payments for Patient Accounts related to OHIP, Uninsured Residents, Out of Country, WSIB, and Inter Provincial Billings;
Assess unpaid Patient Account balances, includes: following internal collection policy, discussion of Patient payment plan, MEDITECH comment taking summarizing Patient interaction;
Customer service excellence through routine Patient, Physician and Insurance phone calls;
Preferred Accommodation and related Insurance Form application;
Preparing bank deposits;
Payment & Revenue application of for offsite Services & Patient activity;
Various Month End dialogue and Finance routines, including: mail gathering/allocation, cheque deposit scanning & utilization of team collaboration software;
Providing back up to peers within department;
Position may be assigned other duties within the Financial Services Department as required;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Community College Diploma in Accounting or Business related degree;
Prior experience in Hospital environment preferred;
Strong customer service skills;
Proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access);
Demonstrated advanced mathematical skills;
Strong financial accounting, analytical and problem solving skills;
Strong oral and written communication;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment;
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, manage own time;
Satisfactory attendance record.
