  • Competitive Pay: $35.50 per hour. approx. $88,000 - $92,000 annually
  • Pension: $4.05 per hour (approx. $8,500 - $9,300 per year) 100% paid by Arrow

Responsibilities:
As a professional driver working for Arrow Transportation Systems Inc based in Kamloops, working for the Chilliwack Mining Branch you will have the opportunity to haul B train trailers and operate various equipment from tandem to tri drive trucks. This role primarily haul Copper ore from the Newgold Mine in Kamloops and will operatre front end loaders to pre-load containers.   • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
  • Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.
  • Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Operate a frontend loader to load product in pre-load containters.
  • Check mobile equipment (i.e. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.
  • Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites.
  • Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
  • Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements. Tarping loads may be a requirement.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatch regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
  • Ensure that all customers, co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.
  • Train others when required.
You Possess:
  • A positive attitude
  • Class 1 truck driver's license
  • Driver's abstract with no suspensions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • At least two job references
  • B train experience is required
  • Winter and mountain driving experience is required
  • Experience operating a front end loader is required
