We are currently looking for a Claims Manager to oversee the Claims department, and claims handling for our comprehensive liability, property, and fleet programs. This is the perfect role for a manager of a small team or a Senior Adjuster/Team Lead looking to take the next step in their career. In this role, you will:
Handle the adjusting of all liability claims and reserve-setting
Ensure ongoing superior customer service, including as lead on all direct customer and claimant engagements
Evaluate, investigate, and adjust liability claims including recommending denial, defense, and settlement strategies
Assist in overseeing litigation management process and obtain timely reports from external counsel to achieve best possible resolution
Prepare reports for VP and senior management team regarding department activities, and analyzing trends identified in claims being handled with key implications to consider
Manage all claims-related contractors, including 3rd party adjusters on property and vehicle, engineers and other various technical experts
Mentor, coach, and manage the Claims Administrator
In addition, you will oversee the management of the department by:
Working with the Vice President to formulate, support and implement long-term strategies for the department
Assisting with development and management of the unit\xe2\x80\x99s budget
Providing input and insight into future business decisions
To be successful, you will have:
A post-secondary education
Obtained or be working towards a CIP or CRM certification
Minimum of 5 years experience in liability insurance claims
Ability to gain big picture understanding, with a desire to make a difference via a focus on \xe2\x80\x93 and accountability for - implementation details
Experience with claims management systems, trends identification and analysis
A proven track record in coaching and motivating a team
Exceptional decision making, problem solving and negotiation skills
Utility industry experience is beneficial
