The Cladding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field operations, coordinating project start-up and execution, ensuring quality and safety standards, and managing customer relations for exterior cladding and related construction projects. This role bridges field supervision with project coordination responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with contract documents and building codes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Review project scope, drawings, and details with Project Managers (PMs) and Estimators prior to project start.
Visit job sites to meet with G.C.'s and owners to coordinate start dates, site readiness, logistics, and scheduling.
Coordinate project start and end times, ensuring readiness of crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
Prepare and support material, tools, and logistics requirements before, during, and after projects.
Manage and monitor RFIs, change orders, and contract documents.
Ensure all specifications, details, and applicable building codes are met.
Develop and monitor quality control documents including shop drawings, submittals, and field reports.
Field Supervision & Crew Management
Introduce and orient organisation crews and subcontractors to job sites.
Review scope of work, applications, and sequencing with foremen.
Act as the primary point of contact between field crews, GC/owners, consultants, PMs, and management.
Provide daily reporting on crew assignments and work locations.
Ensure all workers have the required tools, materials, and safety equipment.
Confirm attendance issues with the Attendance Department as per division rules.
Site Monitoring, Quality & Safety
Perform daily/weekly site visits to monitor activities, progress, and readiness.
Identify and report existing or potential issues, scheduling conflicts, or possible extras to the PM.
Perform roof measurements and conduct quality inspections after installation.
Ensure deficiencies are documented and completed.
Conduct weekly safety reporting through Salus and lead Toolbox Talks.
Inspect all safety equipment and ensure employees have valid safety records and required training.
Customer Relations & Problem Solving
Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers, consultants, and general contractors.
Address issues on-site by engaging appropriate management or subject matter experts.
Support the service department and other divisions by investigating existing buildings, reporting findings, and identifying potential work.
Participate in project selection, strategy development, and customer communications.
General
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Support contract setup, budgets, and cost management.
Additional duties as assigned by the Division Manager or Vice-President.
Employee acknowledges they may be assigned to other divisions based on company needs.
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of experience
with exterior cladding, roofing, or sheet metal (preferred).
4-year degree
in Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (preferred but not required).
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
