In its Lead Agency role,

Strides Toronto collaborates with 24 publicly funded infant, child and youth mental health (ICYMH) core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that promote access, responsive service delivery and experience, and positive mental health outcomes for young people and families across Toronto's diverse communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE




The Child and Family Therapist (CFT) is a full- time permanent position that is responsible for providing a broad range of therapeutic and service co-ordination services to children up to the age of 18 and their families, in the context of flexible service delivery to reduce barriers to service and accommodate client need.


The Child and Family Therapist provides family and individual assessments and counseling as well as group services to support children presenting with mental health concerns and their families in reaching their identified treatment goals.

Salary range: $68,188 to $79,066 per annum

WHAT YOU WILL DO



Provide supportive counselling and treatment utilizing client-centered, trauma informed, evidence-based interventions to children presenting with mental health concerns and their families in accordance with organizational standards to support wellness and improve children's mental health. Consult and collaborate with community partners, agencies and individuals regarding children's mental health to guide the development and implementation of treatment plans, and to ensure that service including admission/ reason for referral and discharge planning is delivered in a clinically appropriate, coordinated, and timely fashion. Enter clinical information into organization's client information system and maintain appropriate, up-to-date clinical reports and recordings in accordance with organizational policy and guidelines, and consistent with recording guidelines from accreditation bodies. Incorporate and integrate ongoing learning, and evidence-based/ informed practices to enhance quality clinical work. Supports learning of new employees and/ or colleagues. Work in a safe manner and adhere to the established health and safety measures and practices in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

THE "MUST HAVES"




The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

Master's Degree in Social Work, or related Master's Degree. Registration in a regulatory body in good standing, that is permitted to provide psychotherapy such as OCSSWSW and CRPO. One year of related experience post Master's completion. Awareness of the role of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in the workplace and within the community being served by the position. An understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health. Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts.

THE 'NICE TO HAVES'




While not required, preference will be given to candidates with the following:

Functional computer and client information system knowledge. Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
