About the Role

Reporting to the CEO and joining the executive leadership team, you will play a critical part overseeing and contributing to our high growth organization. This is an incredible opportunity to play a meaningful role in the innovation and shaping of the future of the growth equity asset class, which is garnering significant continued growth and attention worldwide.
We are searching for an experienced CFO to join our high-performing team and help us continue to scale our business. This seasoned strategist not only understands current industry practices and trends but has proven experience raising equity and debt capital, adapting to change in hyper-growth scenarios and helping build a strong scalable foundation as we mature as an organization. As a member of our senior executive team, you are known as a leader in the industry. You have proven communication skills and impeccable judgement. As the CFO you will be responsible for further growing team of 14 FTEs at present between finance, investment operations, and legal / compliance.
This role requires the ability to inspire others with exemplary leadership, mentorship, enthusiasm, and passion for the business.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an efficiently run and excellence-focused functions around finance, accounting, investment operations, risk management and legal/compliance
  • Advise on key business decisions through sound commercial judgement, highlighting options, trade-offs, risks and opportunities
  • Responsible for enabling a world class controls framework on all financial matters and ensuring key business decisions are made in line with sound financial governance practices
  • Prioritize KPIs and track performance against internal targets and external best practices, making timely interventions at appropriate times
  • Instill a sense of operational excellence and understanding of the competitive environment across the finance, legal, and compliance teams
  • Work with the board of directors and various sub committees, taking responsibility for reporting and risk management
  • Drive the fund accounting team in the preparation of the funds’ periodic Net Asset Value calculation and year-end financial statements, management of the audit, and reviewing other fund related reports
  • Review and oversee all capital calls, distributions, management fee calcs, and water fall allocations
  • Oversee variance analysis, trial balance, P&L analysis, forecasts, and financial models
  • Review processes and look to build and improve
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns
  • Ensure compliance regarding all financial functions
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits
  • Ensure that all financial systems necessary to fulfill the company’s current operations and growth objectives are functional and in place
  • Finance and Accounting Team Management
  • Mentor and develop a Finance and Investment Operations Teams, managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as CFO or other senior finance executive in an investment management or broker dealer business
  • Cross border experience in the USA and Canada
  • Experience in an institutionally backed high growth company is preferred
  • Experience working in alternative investments, private equity and/or equity trading is preferred
  • Bachelor 's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA considered an asset
  • Proven track-record of managing a team and developing talent within an organization
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Problem solver and critical thinker mindset
  • Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada to attend meetings; ability to travel as needed
  • A Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required for this position
