Job Description


Our client, a well-regarded Investment and Asset Manager, provides a broad range of traditional and alternative investment products and services and has been an investor and owner of infrastructure assets for over 15 years.

Due to planned growth and opportunity, they are currently hiring an experienced VP Finance or newly appointed CFO to step into their CFO Infrastructure role. The role is an exciting opportunity to lead the Infrastructure accounting team, working closely and collaboratively with the Infrastructure investments and asset management teams. Manage a high performing accounting team, providing coaching and mentoring to further develop their skills and careers.

This is a key and pivotal role as the CFO will be deeply engaged in supporting the investment teams in their transaction process through onboarding and offboarding investments. Set up new organizational structures including cross-border and international tax structures and provide insights on tax planning to investors and stakeholders, working with external advisors in multiple jurisdictions.

Manage the infrastructure budget process, cash flows and recommend distribution decisions impacting projects at various stages of development. With a deep understanding of projects under development in a complex environment, prepare and review financial statements, stay current on current accounting treatments for transactions, manage the treasury function, review loan and cash flow agreements, review NAV calculations for all investment vehicles and audit multiple entities annually. Add value to the business, constantly improving processes and leveraging technology to meet new business requirements.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

  • CPA Designation required coupled with assurance in public accounting firm or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience required, in a leadership role managing a high performing team.
  • Industry background from infrastructure or energy or renewables; or relatable industries such as real estate, mining, construction.
  • Project accounting and managing investment funds ideally with IFRS and/or ASPE experience especially as they relate to investment funds, unitized investment vehicles and operating projects.
  • Tax compliance and tax planning knowledge an asset.
  • Experience from a complex and technical project environment required, experience with transactions and supporting deals and related capital financing, financial modeling, valuation calculations and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required, collaborative team player with the ability to build deep and trusting relationships.
  • A hands-on \xe2\x80\x9cget it done\xe2\x80\x9d attitude, roll up your sleeves and lead from the front leadership style.
  • Strong attention to detail, results and deadline driven with a problem-solving mindset.
