The Opportunity




MHG has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will lead the finance team at the MHG Head Office, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. An important part of the Sr. leadership team, the CFO will oversee the company's finances and financial strategy, maintaining ownership for the financial health of the business.


The CFO's duties include financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions as well as ensuring the company's financial reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background including appropriate education and professional experience leading accounting and auditing functions as well as gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information.

As Chief Financial Officer, You Will



Provide leadership and direction of MHG Finance Team Implement and oversee financial systems and controls with concentration on managing risk Ensure appropriate operational controls in place to safeguard assets, improve operations and maximize profitability Analyze, consolidate and present financial information and market trends Analyze sales forecasts, compare vs. actual results, monitor cash flow and expenses Collaborate with leaders to create annual budgets and business plans Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities Create an annual organizational budget for MHG in line with the organization's strategic direction and business plan Collaborate and actively participate as key member of MHG Senior Leadership Team Demonstrate and communicates the MHG vision to all team members and lead by example Demonstrate the MHG Core Values of Family, Fun, Passion, Quality and Growth Provide sound financial advice and decision-making, communicating financial concepts and results clearly Oversee all internal, external and regulatory audit processes Attend all required meetings and events, communicating and presenting to owners, partners, MHG Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team, understanding the priorities and strategic focus Advise the CEO on existing and evolving operating and financial issues and opportunities Manage communication with partners, vendors and lenders in an effective manner Advise CEO on insurance matters including coverage for the company Manage annual renewal of policies Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, statements and presentations Demonstrate an understanding of cash flow and business priorities Ensures that product and labour is accurately monitored and properly recorded Monitor all taxes that apply ensuring that taxes are current, collected and accrued

Strong business and financial acumen Expert at figuring out processes and efficient ways to get things done by organizing people and activities Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail, Outstanding communication (written and oral) and presentation skills Ability to clearly set priorities and zero in on what is critical Strategic thinker who sees ahead clearly, can anticipate future trends and consequences accurately Flexible, and able to think quickly and maintain a positive attitude and work ethic under pressure Strong leadership and interpersonal savvy with ability to build a strong relationships with clients, team members, managers, and industry partners

What You Bring



Professional designation and bachelors degree A minimum of 10 years finance and accounting experience Previous experience as CFO or senior leadership position Experience in real estate is an asset A passion for the hospitality industry and creating memorable experiences Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, balancing different priorities, delegating tasks as necessary
