Position Summary:

The CE Coordinator, CHCA is responsible for coordinating operational support for departmental business development and financial viability, while protecting quality indicators for Continuing Education and various partnership and custom training programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plans and implements annual CE course and program offerings to achieve departmental growth targets.
  • Uses CE material fee tracking documents and various reports in Adaco, Banner and Fast to track costs of instructional supplies for all CE classes.
  • Analyzes course recipe history reports to recommend to Program Manager material fee updates as part CE calendar review process.
  • Plans, budgets, and coordinates all course materials including food, beverage and other supplies needed for Continuing Education Programs.
  • Creates, maintains and builds all CE recipes in Adaco.
  • Communicates CE schedule to ICC data team for creation of events in the database and recommends appropriate prefixes and outlets for data sorting.
  • Decides appropriate course of corrective action for students with concerns and guides Customer Service Representative and Academic Operations & Student Success Assistant toward a resolution.
  • Evaluates and assesses students for exemptions or Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and makes appropriate judgement of College credit.
  • Reviews accuracy of current course outlines and directs Customer Service Representative to make needed changes.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to Customer Service Representative advises on process and monitors\' progress toward achieving specific strategic objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Three-year diploma or degree in the field of Hospitality & Culinary Arts or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years\' experience working in hospitality or food service setting as well as an educational environment preferred.
  • Experience handling all functions of course scheduling is preferred.
  • Requires technical culinary/baking/beverages knowledge and experience with onboarding of training staff and coordination of curriculum planning.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Solid coordinating, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Good judgment and accuracy; attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg or 44 lbs. (i.e., boxes of food and beverage products, photocopier paper, supplies, etc.).
  • Able to travel locally between various food and beverage suppliers in the GTA on a weekly basis.
  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College\'s priorities on diversity and equity.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
