We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Operations Manager to oversee our catering operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and catering management, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing catering events from planning to execution, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.
Duties
Plan, organize, and coordinate catering events, including menu selection and logistics.
Supervise kitchen staff and ensure proper food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Manage inventory and ordering of food supplies while ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
Utilize POS systems such as Micros POS for order management and cash handling.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs and preferences effectively.
Lead a team of catering staff, providing training in food handling, serving techniques, and hospitality best practices.
Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for new team members.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Monitor event progress to ensure client satisfaction throughout the catering experience.
Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food ordering, and maintaining cleanliness.
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards.
Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards while maintaining consistency.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain quality standards.
Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff assignments to optimize workflow
Requirements
Minimum 5 years in sales, catering business for 10 years
ICBC Class 5 driving license - be able to drive mini vans to the venues
Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry.
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising staff.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Micros POS preferred).
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in planning events.
Experience in food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
