The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food for a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, barbecues, and private gatherings. This role involves working across diverse venues, collaborating with clients and staff, and ensuring all food is delivered to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and event specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area during food preparation and service.
Assist with menu planning, food costing, and event setup as required.
Collaborate with the catering team to ensure timely service and exceptional guest satisfaction.
Manage portion control, minimize waste, and monitor inventory levels during events.
Support kitchen operations including setup, teardown, and equipment maintenance.
Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and kitchen standards at all times.
Qualifications:
Red Seal Certification or Culinary Diploma preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in catering, banquet, or high-volume culinary environments.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safe food-handling practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
Valid Food Handler Certification required.
Work Conditions:
Fast-paced kitchen and event environments.
Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Variable hours based on event bookings.
