Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and versatile
Cashier/Kitchen Helper
to be a vital part of our team. This dual-role position requires a dynamic individual who can deliver exceptional customer service and accurately process transactions while also supporting kitchen staff with food preparation and maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment.
Core Responsibilities
A. Cashier & Customer Service (Front-of-House)
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Accurately take customer food and beverage orders.
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for processing cash, credit, and debit transactions.
Ensure the cash drawer is balanced and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift.
Answer customer questions regarding menu items, promotions, and ingredients.
Package and expedite customer takeout and delivery orders accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, dining area, and condiment stations.
B. Kitchen & Food Preparation (Back-of-House)
Assist cooks and chefs with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, peeling, cutting vegetables, slicing meats, portioning ingredients).
Follow standard recipes and portion controls as instructed.
Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and food preparation areas.
Load, operate, and unload commercial dishwashers; hand-wash large pots and pans as needed.
Receive, unpack, and store food deliveries in the correct storage areas (refrigerators, freezers, and dry stock).
Manage waste disposal by taking out trash, recycling, and cleaning garbage bins.
Perform deep cleaning duties as assigned by kitchen management.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Strong verbal communication and excellent customer service skills.
Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and change calculation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20-25 lbs. (approximately 45-55 pounds).
Willingness to learn and perform a wide range of tasks in both the front and back of the restaurant.
Team player with a strong work ethic and a positive, flexible attitude.
Current Food Handler Certification/FoodSafe certificate.
Preferred (Assets):
Previous experience as a Cashier, Food Counter Attendant, or Kitchen Helper.
Knowledge of POS systems.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
